I am happy to announce that the recording of the album is finished. Jim Anderson has done all of the recording at Avatar Studios, and hopefully we will mix it next week. After that, it will be off to be mastered. There will be eight duets with Peter Leitch and three solo tracks. I have spent the summer building strength in my left hand, and I have been able to return to the gauge of strings that I used to play. I have finally found medication that targets nerve pain and will cover the chronic pain in my left wrist. I am excited about what Peter and I have done and will try to get the album out asap. Happy 7th, Sarah! Bye, Chad

The recording dates with Peter are confirmed, so we will be in the studio soon. I will say that it has been hard for me to adjust to life with chronic pain. The surgeries went a long way towards helping me, but being a guitarist with this kind of injury is a constant battle. I am excited to record with Peter, and Sunday nights at Dizzy's are still going strong.

I am excited to announce that a duo jazz guitar recording with Peter Leitch is in the works. My left wrist still does not test as normal, so I am going for more occupational therapy. I have some fun dates coming up, and I would love to see everyone there. I'll be at Walker's on January 3rd, and there are two trio dates prior to that.

Some inspiring new projects have come my way. A special event on Oct. 8th is on the calendar page, so please check that out. I have been having a wonderful time at Dizzy's in Park Slope on Sunday nights and want to invite everyone out for a relaxed evening.

I have set my sights on producing on a new recording. It is all conceptual at this point, but I feel that it is high time to make a statement on the guitar. Sarah and I recently recorded three short songs which we have uploaded to our websites. We are very happy with them, so please take a minute to listen. Though I am dealing with residual wrist pain, I am excited about the possibilities ahead. Chad

My friend Tyler has motivated me by getting me out to play for the first time since the first surgery. Reese Muntean let me put up two great pictures from Gallery 151 on the Bowery. Sorry Reese, they were much sharper before this site reduced them.

I have been working to build up endurance in the length of time I can play and on strength in general. Sarah has helped me out a lot by singing with me, and we've had some really nice moments. We videotaped "Stella" and it sounded great. We decided we looked nuts, so it is not going up on the site. I have had some nice sessions with other players, as well.

I have taken Sunday nights at Dizzy's in Brooklyn for a while. I am excited about running through these standards again with a fresh perspective, especially in such a relaxed atmosphere. Hope to see you there- Chad

A second surgery is on the way. It is a FCU tendon repair. This has been impeding my progress in returning to playing. I'm hoping I'm not stuck with it. I'll be out two months this time.

I shot a recording session the other night and heard some great music in the process. Nice job, Alex! The pictures are intended for the CD booklet.

I'll have some new medium format shots up on my other site fairly soon. They are off being scanned. Cross your fingers.
I have started a new site to host my photography as I work on building strength in my left hand. Peter and I took a trip down to photograph the Mississippi Delta, and we came back with some great shots. It was an incredible experience. I have been able to spend more time on the guitar lately, but a second surgery is still a real possibility. My new site is www.chadcoephotography.com.
The first thirteen images in my photo section will be on exhibit and for sale from November 15th through December 31st at Dizzy's Restaurant in Park Slope. I have been told the Giclee prints are stunning, but I have yet to pick them up. There will be four 24x36 and nine 16x20 prints.
I am considering a second surgery to try to counter the effects of a cortisone injection. It is an issue to date, but I remain hopeful.
Dizzy's Restaurant is located at the 7th Avenue F Train stop, which is at the intersection of 9th Street and 8th Avenue in Brooklyn. 511 9th St, Brooklyn 11215 Phone: 718-499-1966

September

Ok, so September is here. I'm just not ready to gig yet. Also, I will hold off on teaching lessons until I know how the next month or so goes. I have realized it is still possible to over do it, and I still have a way to go before I can make commitments.
Again, I want to say thanks to the kindred spirits from my past who have been emailing. I think a person can only dedicate their life to an instrument because they find intrinsic value in playing. If there are other rewards, so be it. It has been quite challenging to find something to replace the time I used to spend playing. I generally get what I am looking for in photography.
I have been selecting images for a photography exhibit at Dizzy's in Park Slope. It will start November 15th and run for a month. They feature a local artist every month. Peter and I made a trip to 125th street to shoot photos not too long ago. Check out his work through my link if you are unfamiliar with him. My negatives were botched in processing, but I will put up one that I salvaged on the photos page. We have discussed a trip down to Mississippi to photograph, so perhaps we could work that out.
